What to Expect as an Instructor:
- By the end of the semester, many students realize and are excited
about how much they learned, but they also realize how much they
have not learned. As a teacher you might find you did not have
time to cover in detail all the information presented and to bring
everything to a neat and clean conclusion. That is a major construct
of the program. It is to have the student see the whole of business
in all its complexity and to understand why they need the courses
in accounting, economics, statistics, and the upper division core
courses. It is the objective of the program to enhance critical
thinking and to provide a framework for gathering future knowledge
throughout their academic career.
It will take some effort to adopt the program to compliment your
existing textbook or to adopt the entire program. The benefits are
worthwhile. The learning for the student is immense. You should
not be uncomfortable about using the technology or in using materials
that delve deeply into areas in which you have not taught for some
time (accounting, financial statements, finance, stocks, human resource
management, international business, e-commerce, etc.).
AGV provides excellent support to instructors. For students the
program offers mentors and on-line tutors. For the first few semesters,
you can arrange AGV on-line tutorials for your students (locate
a room which has a web linked computer with a projector or check
with your library).
AGV also offers training sessions to professors both on site and
online.
